Beast of the Far East

CinnaMonroe is the author of the prose that serves as the backbone of this scene (her book is a work in progress, but I hope she makes it a reality in the near future - the world needs more werewolf novels). Ryo, a ronin warrior from the island of Japan, finds himself trapped in his lycan form and captured by a Victorian traveling circus. A local orphan named Kira recognizes the spark of sentience in Ryo's eyes and attempts to befriend the starving beast. Despite being fearful of humans by default, he ponders over the child's passive nature and watches for signs of trust. Then, out of her pocket comes an offering...
